OVERVIEW

What Makes Us Stand Out?

Erecting a steel building correctly is really important. However, finding the right erector can be difficult. You really want someone who knows every phase of construction and can make sure the building is erected correctly and in a timely manner. Hiring a steel building erector who isn’t qualified for the job can lead to serious repercussions during the construction and after it’s built.

Before hiring someone, find out how much experience they have erecting steel buildings. Qualified erectors will have erected many buildings and will know how the building goes together. They can fix problems as they arise, keeping the project on schedule. Inexperienced erectors can make mistakes that can cause delay the construction by days or weeks because they don’t have the experience to fix the problem.

There’s more than one way to erect a steel building, and the many designs available require experienced hands that know how to put up a variety of styles. Experienced erectors know how to make sure the building is safe with secure, tight connections.

When pricing erectors, beware of really low bids. An extraordinarily low bid might mean the erector is inexperienced and in need of work. It may seem cheaper at first, but the overall cost of correcting the erector’s mistakes can prove more costly than hiring a qualified, experienced erector. Qualified erectors are able to review the project before construction begins and may be able to save you money immediately. Because they have the experience to fix issues before they become problems, experienced erectors are worth the money they charge.

GETTING STARTED

A metal building project can be a frustrating experience if you don’t do your homework. Questions must be answered before buying a building. Who is going to do the concrete, building erection, building permits, water hook-up, electrical, plumbing, how many exit doors are needed, how many bathrooms do you need, etc…

Depending on the size of the building, it is best to contact one of the building manufacturers listed on our website. Remember there are Local Building Departments who can also be consulted for information on…

1. Property zoning?
2. Property setbacks?
3. Correct building code?
4. Correct live load or ground snow load?
5. Correct wind load?
6. Correct wind exposure? (This does not apply to all codes.)
7. Correct seismic code?
8. Are structural calculations required?
9. Is a stamped foundation design required?
10. Required permits and fees?
11. Any covenants controlling your area?
12. Sprinkler requirements?

These twelve questions will help you make sure you’re metal building that’s correctly designed for your area and lot size. Other costs to consider are electricity, plumbing, insulation and interior finishing. Keep in mind that if purchasing a building, that it is just one part of the overall cost of your Building Project.
